Last weekend, we attended two birthday parties on the same day! Emerson's friend Augustine turned 4, and Langston's friend Ethan turned 1! We had a great time at both parties!

Ethan and Langston
In a few short weeks, this little guy will be turning 1! :( I'm very sad about the whole idea of it.
It seems like just yesterday, I was at Kelly's baby shower. She was pregnant with Ethan, I was pregnant with Langston, and Kristen was pregnant with Julia! Look at them all now! Ethan was born in February, Langston in March, and Julia in May.
Showing off for the girl!
Already flirting!
So sweet!

Our sweet friend Kelly with her birthday boy!
She went to Penn State with Brian. It is neat that they are both here in Houston now!
I was a teacher before I became a full-time stay at home mom. It was very difficult finding a name for my first little boy that I didn't associate with a child I knew from school. So, Brian and I went for a unique name...Emerson, a name that I have always adored. In thinking about his name, I realized it was the last name of a great American poet - Ralph Waldo Emerson. I Googled "Great American Poets" in searching for my second little one's name. We fell in love with the name Langston- when the search turned up- Langston Hughes. Now my boys have very intellectual names...and a good story to go with them!
Hi, I'm Misty! I am a Texas girl at heart, born and raised here. There isn't another state that I would rather be. My husband is from Pennsylvania. Brian and I met while I was in college. His career brought him to Texas, and I'm so blessed it did. He is the love of my life. We were married in July 2004. I taught second grade for 5 years and worked as a gifted and talented specialist teaching K-4 for one year before I became a stay at home mom. We have two boys. Emerson is 5 and Langston is 3. I love being at home with my boys, but it is a challenging job! Actually being a mom is probably the most challenging thing I've done in my life, but the rewards are great. Langston keeps us on our toes from the time we wake up until we go to sleep. Brian and I as a team manage his life-threatening food allergies to milk, egg, fish and shellfish. He outgrew his peanut allergy! Thank you, Jesus! We pray every day that he will outgrow at least a few more of them! Our boys fill our hearts and lives with joy that just can't be put into words. I thank God for Brian, Emerson, and Langston! I'm truly blessed!
