Alcatraz

This was our first glimpse of Fisherman's Wharf.  We caught a ferry to Alcatraz at a pier near the wharf.
While we were wating for the ferry, I caught this glimpse of Coit Tower.
It was SO VERY COLD on the ferry ride over to Alcatraz and while we were exploring the prison.  I mean we were FREEZING.  Don't let the guys fool you with their short sleeves.  We were soon all bundled up.  The temperatures in San Fran averaged HIGHS in the 50s and low 60s during the day and the LOWS were in the 50s and high 40s at night.

It was pretty foggy which added to the weird experience.

I was excited to visit this strange place, but it really did weigh heavy on my heart.  Especially inside the main prison during the audio tour, I just constantly thought about what all must have taken place inside the walls.  It was really hard for me to smile for my pictures once inside.  It just gave me a creepy, uneasy feeling.  The guys totally loved it of course.

The audio tour was very informative.
